Ribbon leaf—also known as gold leaf rolls or roll leaf—features individual squares of genuine or metal leaf laid sequentially on a continuous backing paper for smooth, uninterrupted application.

Each leaf overlaps the previous one by approximately 2mm, creating consistent coverage and clean transitions. Ribbon leaf is especially well suited for ceilings, walls, architectural details, and large surface areas, and can reduce application time and labor by up to 50% compared to loose leaf.

Genuine Gold, Silver and Palladium Leaf Rolls

Ribbon Gold Leaf is produced by placing 4 1/8" square gold leaves onto a continuous length of waxed paper with a precise 2mm overlap. The backing paper and cardboard core are equal in width, with the gold leaf positioned neatly within the paper edges. Ribbon leaf can be trimmed to any required width—when cut, both the gold and backing paper are trimmed together, producing a clean, straight edge for controlled application.

Imitation Gold, Silver and Copper Leaf Rolls

Ribbon Metal Leaf is manufactured using 6 1/4" square leaves applied to a continuous roll of waxed paper with a 2mm overlap. Each leaf measures 6 1/4" × 6 1/4", and rolls are available in 5, 50, or 75 meter lengths. Approximate coverage is 82 square feet for a 50-meter roll and 123 square feet for a 75-meter roll, making ribbon metal leaf an efficient option for large-scale projects.
